In observance of the Easter holiday on April 5, the Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) will not operate regular Sunday services — Fixed-Route, Spec-Tran, Lot Link, Night Owl and CATA Rydz. Limited holiday service will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for customers with pre-reserved trips.

The Capital Area Transportation Authority will close its regular operations on Thursday, Nov. 27, in observance of Thanksgiving Day. CATA’s Fixed Route, Spec-Tran, Rural Service, Connector, Redi-Ride, Lot Link, Night Owl, Shopping Bus and CATA Rydz will not operate.  

Limited holiday service will operate 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for customers who have pre-reserved trips. Ride reservations will be accepted through Nov. 24. Call 517-394-2282 to reserve a ride.

In observance of Memorial Day, the Capital Area Transportation Authority will be closed Monday, May 26. CATA’s Fixed-Route, Spec-Tran, Rural Service, CATA Rydz, Connector, Redi-Ride and Shopping Bus services will not operate.

The Spec-Tran office will remain open Memorial Day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to schedule rides needed after the holiday. No same-day trips will be scheduled. Call 517-394-2282 to book your ride. Trips can also be scheduled on myspectran.cata.org or the MyRideCATA app.

CATA routes and services will resume their regular weekday schedules on Tuesday, May 27.

Advance reservations are required for those in need of transportation on Dec. 25. Curb-to-curb service will be available to the general public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a limited basis and will be restricted to the Spec-Tran service boundaries. The Capital Area Transportation Authority kicks off its holiday campaign, "Celebrate the Traditions of the Season" this week offering riders a chance to enjoy a free ride in recognition of the winter holidays.

It has been a longstanding tradition of the transit agency to celebrate with the community through engaging ridership campaigns. This year’s "Traditions of the Season" campaign recognizes the diverse ways community members observe the holidays, highlighting unique traditions across the region—from family gatherings to cultural observances.

The Capital Area Transportation Authority will close its regular service on Thursday, Nov. 28, in observance of Thanksgiving Day. CATA’s Fixed Route, Spec-Tran, Rural Service, Connector, Redi-Ride, Lot Link, Night Owl, Shopping Bus and CATA Rydz will not operate. Limited holiday service will operate 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for customers who have pre-reserved trips.

All non-campus CATA routes and services will end at their regularly scheduled time on Wednesday, Nov. 27. MSU late-evening campus service on Routes 30, 31, 39 and Lot Link will conclude at 11:30 p.m. 

As a pilot program, limited holiday service will be offered on Easter Sunday, March 31 while all other CATA operations – Fixed Route, Spec-Tran, Rural Service, Connector, Redi-Ride and Shopping Bus – close for the day.
