CATA offers limited service on Independence Day

The Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) will provide limited holiday service on Independence Day, Saturday, July 4, while all other services — Fixed-Route, Spec-Tran, Rural Service, CATA Rydz, Connector and Redi-Ride— will not operate.  

Curb-to-curb service within the Spec-Tran service boundaries will be available to the general public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CATA will attempt to accommodate all ride requests. To view the service area map, visit Holidays webpage.  

Trips must be scheduled in advance June 20-July 1. No same-day trips will be allowed. To reserve a ride, call 517-394-2282. The one-way fare is $2.50. Pay with cash (exact fare), debit or credit cards (tap-to-pay), Apple Pay or Google Pay, digital Spec-Tran passes through the CATA Mobile Pay app or Transit app, or traditional Spec-Tran paper passes and tokens.

The Paratransit Office will remain open on Independence Day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to schedule rides needed after the holiday. No same-day trips will be scheduled. To schedule a ride, call 517-394-2282, visit MySpectran or use the MyRideCATA app.
