In response to overwhelming public interest in holiday service, CATA will introduce a new demand-response, curb-to-curb service, which will launch on a trial basis on Easter, Sunday, April 9. Advance reservations are required. Rides must be scheduled by calling 517-394-2282. Service features follow:

CATA partners with Ingham County to offer free year-round rides to county-operated parks
Ingham County parks offer a myriad of year-round activities unique to the outdoors. An initiative to give residents greater access to some of its most prestigious parks led Ingham County’s Parks Department to partner with CATA on a year-round fare-free transportation program.
Under the new program, the Ingham County Parks Department earmarked funding to purchase curb-to-curb transportation service to the four parks it manages: Lake Lansing Park North and South, Burchfield Park and Hawk Island Park. Transportation will be provided by CATA Redi-Ride, Rural and Spec-Tran services.

CATA announces service reductions over MSU and LCC spring breaks
The Capital Area Transportation Authority is preparing to implement several service changes as Michigan State University and Lansing Community College pause for spring break. The changes will be in effect Monday, March 6, through Sunday, March 12, 2023.

Look to the road for your dream career! The Capital Area Transportation Authority and Eaton County Transportation Authority are hosting job fairs Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023. On-site interviews will be conducted throughout the events.
Both transit agencies are recruiting new bus operators to serve the Capital City region. CATA is also looking to fill mechanic and other full-time positions.

CATA Listening Bus is all ears
The Capital Area Transportation Authority values customer input and wants to make it easier for its riders to be heard.
The Listening Bus, a new program that gives passengers a voice while commuting, launches Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, aboard select CATA buses staffed by CATA representatives. Riders will have the opportunity to conveniently share constructive feedback about their experiences with CATA services as they travel to their destinations.

CATA Partners With Lansing Police Department, Department of Homeland Security to Combat Human Trafficking
In partnership with Lansing Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security, the Capital Area Transportation Authority has launched its human trafficking awareness and prevention campaign. One of the key components of the campaign is the debut of the ELERTS See Say app, which invites members of the public to anonymously report safety concerns and suspicious activities, including suspected human trafficking in the Mid-Michigan region.
