CATA implements service changes for winter break; holiday
Winter Break Service Changes
CATA’s winter break service goes into effect Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, and continues through Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024.
· Route 1 – Downtown Lansing/Meridian Mall Weekday departures from bus stops along downtowns Lansing’s Capitol Loop will continue to occur up to eight minutes later than usual Monday through Friday evening.
· Route 20 – South Harrison/Jolly/Dunckel The route will travel into Spartan Village during the break. Buses will travel into the MSU-CTC/Ramp 1 and serve the Shaw and Farm Boarding Center

CATA will operate limited service Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Reservations must be made in advance between Nov. 10 and Nov. 20. Call 517-394-2282 to schedule a curb-to-curb ride. Same-day trips are not available.
Service for this pilot program is available to the general public on a limited basis. CATA will attempt to accommodate all ride requests.

Tri-county transits give voters free rides to polls for general election
LANSING, Mich. – To eliminate transportation barriers for voters who require access to polling centers or clerks’ offices, and to facilitate voter registration and early voting, the region’s three transit agencies – CATA, EATRAN and Clinton Transit – will provide systemwide free rides, effective immediately and during polling hours for the general election Tuesday, Nov. 7.

CATA to launch service changes Aug. 28; limited MSU campus service resumes one week prior to the start of classes
As summer draws to a close, the Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) is preparing to implement service changes to its fixed-route service. The changes, effective Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, will include adjustments to Routes 9 and 20, and the full resumption of Spartan Service on all Michigan State University campus routes and select off-campus routes. A modified level of Spartan Service will operate on MSU’s campus the week of Aug. 21.
Effective Aug. 28, the following service changes will be implemented:
CATA service to the Ingham County Fair
In partnership with Ingham County, CATA will provide transit service to this year’s Ingham County Fair which runs Monday, July 31, through Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023.
EARTAN's Your Voice Chooses Where We Go Press Event
The Eaton County Transportation Authority (EATRAN) provides public transportation services to Eaton County residents through open-door, curb-to-curb rides within the county; out-of-county medical trips and an express bus to downtown Lansing. Eaton County residents currently pay a 0.25 mill property tax to support EATRAN. Efforts are underway to improve service and regional transportation connections, including communities in Charlotte, Eaton Rapids, Dimondale, Grand Ledge, Olivet, Potterville, Bellevue and Delta Township. The system currently operates from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Public Meeting Notice - 2023 Summer and Fall Listening Bus Sessions
The Capital Area Transportation Authority announces its 2023 summer and fall Listening Bus sessions hosted on CATA’s fixed-route buses. The program allows riders to conveniently share constructive feedback about their experiences with CATA’s fixed-route service as they travel to and from their destinations. CATA representatives will be aboard buses to interact with customers and document their feedback.
