Tri-county transits give voters free rides to early voting and polling sites for presidential primary election
LANSING, Mich. – To eliminate transportation barriers for voters, the region’s three transit agencies – CATA, EATRAN and Clinton Transit – will provide systemwide free rides to early voting locations Feb. 17-25 and to polling sites on Tuesday, Feb. 27, the day of the presidential primary election. There will be no in-person voting on Monday, Feb. 26. To ride free of charge, simply inform your driver that you are going to vote when you board. There is no ID requirement.
CATA awarded $1.6 million to expand regional transit
LANSING, Mich. – The Capital Area Transportation Authority will receive $1,664,000 for continued regional coordination of transit, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
“MDOT is pleased to fund CATA’s Enhance Lansing Equity via Creative Transit Solutions project,” said Jean Ruestman, MDOT Office of Passenger Transportation administrator. We are very excited to partner with CATA to advance regional transit in an equitable manner.”

LANSING, Mich. – The Eaton County Transportation Authority will bring back a new-and-improved Connector service Jan. 15, 2024. The new service will operate 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and – in an unprecedented move – Saturday service will be available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The new Connector will offer improved routing and expanded service hours.

Service will operate as usual on Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023.
As part of a pilot program, limited holiday service will be offered on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25, 2023, while all other CATA operations – Fixed Route, Spec-Tran, Rural Service, Connector, Redi-Ride and Shopping Bus – close for the day.

Winter Break Service Changes
CATA’s winter break service goes into effect Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, and continues through Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024.
· Route 1 – Downtown Lansing/Meridian Mall Weekday departures from bus stops along downtowns Lansing’s Capitol Loop will continue to occur up to eight minutes later than usual Monday through Friday evening.
· Route 20 – South Harrison/Jolly/Dunckel The route will travel into Spartan Village during the break. Buses will travel into the MSU-CTC/Ramp 1 and serve the Shaw and Farm Boarding Center

CATA will operate limited service Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Reservations must be made in advance between Nov. 10 and Nov. 20. Call 517-394-2282 to schedule a curb-to-curb ride. Same-day trips are not available.
Service for this pilot program is available to the general public on a limited basis. CATA will attempt to accommodate all ride requests.
Trips are restricted to the Spec-Tran service boundaries. To view a map of the service area, visit cata.org/spectran.
