As Michigan State University and Lansing Community College approach the end of their fall semesters, CATA prepares to implement service changes over the winter break and during the upcoming holidays.

CATA’s winter break service goes into effect Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, and continues through Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023.

CATA Partners With Lansing Police Department, Department of Homeland Security to Combat Human Trafficking
In partnership with Lansing Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security, the Capital Area Transportation Authority has launched its human trafficking awareness and prevention campaign. One of the key components of the campaign is the debut of the ELERTS See Say app, which invites members of the public to anonymously report safety concerns and suspicious activities, including suspected human trafficking in the Mid-Michigan region.

Tri-County public transit agencies launch unprecedented partnership to enhance regional mobility
Three public transit agencies today unveiled an unprecedented effort to enhance regional mobility across the Mid-Michigan region. The Capital Area Transportation Authority, Eaton County Transportation Authority and Clinton Area Transit System are collaborating alongside Tri-County Regional Planning Commission to align the region’s transit systems in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.

Look to the road for your dream career! The Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) is hosting a job fair on Thursday, Sept. 15, to recruit new bus operators and mechanics to serve the Capital City region. On-site interviews will be conducted throughout the event.
CATA to give free rides to voters Aug. 2 for state primary election
Lansing, Mich. – The Capital Area Transportation Authority will offer system-wide free rides to the polls Tuesday, Aug. 2. No identification required. For fare-free boarding, riders should simply inform their driver that they wish to vote.
Spec-Tran and Rural Service rides must be scheduled by 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1. Same-day rides are not available for these services. CATA also recommends that Redi-Ride trips to polling centers be booked no later than Aug. 1.
