2026 MSU Football Detours

During MSU home football games, some routes that travel through or near MSU campus are impacted by game day detours. Significant delays may occur on these routes.

Detours will start 5-6 hours before kickoff and operate until 2 hours after the game.

CATA invites public to Phase III virtual open house for transit service review

The Capital Area Transportation Authority invites riders, community members and stakeholders to participate in the final phase of CATA’s Road Ahead during a virtual public open house Wednesday, Sept. 2, from noon to 1 p.m.  

Project consultants will present their proposed recommendations and funding scenarios developed through the year-long, systemwide transit service review. Participants will be able to learn about the recommendations, ask questions and provide feedback.

The Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) will host a series of public meetings to gather community feedback on proposed service changes scheduled to take effect Monday, Aug. 24, 2026.  

Residents are encouraged to review the proposed service changes and provide feedback by attending a public meeting or submitting comments by email, mail or phone.

Stay cool by riding CATA to local cooling centers

As temperatures rise across the Capital region, the Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) is encouraging residents to stay safe by taking advantage of its air-conditioned buses to travel to local cooling centers.

The CATA Transportation Center (CTC), located at 420 S. Grand Ave. in downtown Lansing, open Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, also serves as a cooling center during its regular operating hours, providing a cool, indoor space for community members seeking relief from extreme temperatures.
