From accessible vehicles to travel training, the federal Section 5310 Program helps expand transportation options for seniors and individuals with disabilities across Mid-Michigan. CATA receives federal funding through the program and works with local organizations to support transportation projects that improve mobility and accessibility.
Organizations that have received funding since 2024:
- RSVP of Ingham, Eaton & Clinton Counties
- Lansing Housing Commission
- Mason Community Services
- PACE (Senior Community Care)
- Ingham County Medical Care Facility
- Disability Network Capital Area (for a hands-on travel training program that helps individuals build confidence using public transportation)
These investments help address mobility needs beyond traditional transit service, creating greater access and independence throughout the region. Learn more or apply for future funding opportunities at the 5310 Program webpage.
