Developer Resources

CATA is pleased to make resources available to developers to help promote the use of public transit. Below are some links to resources that may be useful to developers. Please let us know if you come across others that we should add. You can send links to us at itdevelopers@cata.org.

General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS)

The GTFS transit feed specification defines a common format for public transportation schedules and associated geographic information. Documentation is available: Google Transit Feed Specifications

GTFS-Real Time

A related set of data is the GTFS-Real Time (GTFS-RT) feed specification that provides real time updates about CATA's fleet. Documentation is available: Google GTFS Specifications

CATA's GTFS Download

CATA's GTFS feed is hosted on an FTP server and requires credentials. Our GTFS-RT feeds are hosted on a web server and can be accessed via HTTP URL's. Use of the feeds is subject to a license agreement that can be obtained in three easy steps:

  1. Download CATA's GTFS License Agreement (PDF).
  2. Review, complete, sign and return following the instructions in the agreement.
  3. Upon acceptance you will receive the address of our FTP site and HTTP URLs along with your own personal credentials to access the FTP site
