During Michigan State University home football games some routes serving the area will be on detour. Please see the specific details below.

2025 MSU Home Football Game Schedule

  • Friday, Aug. 29 vs Western Michigan

  • Saturday, Sept. 6 vs Boston College

  • Saturday, Sept. 13 vs Youngstown State

  • Saturday, Oct.11 vs UCLA

  • Saturday, Oct. 25 vs Michigan

  • Saturday, Nov. 15 vs Penn State

When MSU hosts a Friday night home football game:

  • Campus detours will be in effect on Routes 18, 20-26, 30, 31, 32 and 39. See links to maps below.
  • Routes 25, 30 and 39 will begin detouring six hours prior to kick-off and continue until two hours after the game.
  • Routes 20, 22, 23, 24, 26, 31 and 32 will begin detouring five hours prior to kick-off and continue until two hours after the game.
  • Route 33 will end service for the day five hours prior to kick-off.
  • Significant delays may occur on these routes.
  • Routes 24 and 25 will not travel to Ramp 5 on Red Cedar while on detour.
  • Route 26 will not travel to Ramp 1 while on detour.
  • Routes 30, 31 and 32 will continue to travel to Ramp 1 while on detour.
  • Routes 20 and 39 will continue to travel to the Shaw & Farm Boarding Area while on detour.
  • Lot 89 football shuttle will start service five hours prior to kick-off.

When MSU hosts a Saturday home football game:

  • Campus detours will be in effect on Routes 20-26, 34 and 35. See links to maps below.
  • Routes 25 and 35 will begin detouring six hours prior to kick-off and continue until two hours after the game.
  • Routes 20, 22, 23, 24, 26 and 34 will begin detouring five hours prior to kick-off and continue until two hours after the game.
  • Significant delays may occur on these routes.
  • Routes 24 and 25 will not travel to Ramp 5 on Red Cedar while on detour.
  • Routes 34, 35 and 36 will continue to travel to Ramp 1 during the detours.
  • Route 20 will continue to travel to the Shaw & Farm Boarding Area while on detour.
  • Routes 22 and 23 will not travel to the Shaw & Farm Boarding Area while on detour.
  • Route 36 will not be detoured.

Routes 20, 22, 23, 24, 26, 31, 32 and 38 will begin detouring five hours prior to kick-off and continue until two hours after the game.

Route 18 - Capital City Crosstown (Friday night games only)

Buses traveling to campus will: 

  • Regular Route to the Capital Area Multimodal Gateway
  • Depart the Capital Area Multimodal Gateway to Service Road
  • Head east on Service Road to Hagadorn, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Hagadorn to first available “Michigan Left” turn around, turn left (east/north)
  • Head north on Hagadorn to E. Shaw Lane, turn left (west)
  • Head west on E. Shaw Lane/N. Shaw Lane to Farm Lane, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Farm Lane to Service Road, turn right (west)
  • Head west on Service Road to the Capital Area Multimodal Gateway
  • Resume Regular Route

Route 20 - South Harrison - Jolly - Dunckel

Buses traveling to campus will: 

  • Head north on Collins to Forest, turn right (east) Head east on Forest to Farm Lane, turn left (north) Head north on Farm Lane to S. Shaw Lane, turn right (east) 
  • Head east on S. Shaw Lane to Bogue turnabout and follow around to W. Shaw Lane 
  • Head west on W. Shaw Lane to the Shaw & Farm Boarding Area

Route 22 - MSU - Haslett - Okemos 

Buses traveling to campus will: 

  • Head north on Hagadorn Road to E. Shaw Lane, turn left (west) 
  • Head west on E. Shaw Lane to Bogue Street, turn right (north) 

Buses traveling from campus will: 

  • Head north on Bogue Street to Grand River, turn right (east) 
  • Head east on Grand River to Hagadorn, turn left (north) 
  • Resume regular route

Route 23 - MSU - Haslett - Okemos 

Buses traveling to campus will: 

  • Head south on Hagadorn to Grand River, turn right (west)
  • Head west on Grand River to Bogue, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Bogue to E. Shaw Lane and the turnabout, follow around to E. Shaw Lane (east)

Buses traveling from campus will: 

  • Head east on S. Shaw Lane/E. Shaw Lane to Hagadorn, turn right (south)
  • Resume regular route

Route 24 - East Lansing - East Lake Lansing Road

Buses traveling to campus will:

  • Head south on Alton to Burcham Drive, turn right (west)
  • Head west on Burcham, bypassing MAC Avenue, to Abbot Road, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Abbot to Grand River Avenue, turn left (east)
  • Head east on Grand River to Farm Lane, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Farm to Auditorium, turn left (east)
  • Head east on Auditorium to Physics, turn left (north)

 

Buses traveling from campus will:

  • Head north on Physics to Farm Lane, turn right (north) 
  • Head north on Farm to Grand River, turn left (west) 
  • Head west on Grand River to MAC, turn right (north) 
  • Resume regular route

Route 25 - North Harrison

Buses traveling to campus will: 

  • Head south on Harrison to Michigan, turn right (west)
  • Head west on Michigan to the Michigan/Harrison Road turn-around, turn left (south/east)
  • Head east on Michigan to the Michigan/Beal Street turn-around, turn left (north/west)
  • Head west on Michigan to Harrison Road, turn right (north)
  • Resume regular route

Route 26 - Abbot - Chandler

Buses traveling to campus will:

  • Head south on Abbot, bypassing Burcham Drive, to Grand River, turn left, (east)
  • Head east on Grand River to Farm Lane, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Farm to Auditorium, turn left (east)
  • Head east on Auditorium to Physics, turn left (north)

Buses traveling from campus will

  • Head north on Physics to Farm Lane, turn right (north)
  • Head north on Farm to Grand River, turn left (west)
  • Head west on Grand River to MAC, turn right (north)
  • Resume regular route

Route 30 - South & East Neighborhoods (Friday night games only)

Buses will travel:

  • Depart from MSU CTC/Ramp 1 to N. Shaw Lane
  • Head west on N. Shaw Lane to Science Drive, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Science to S. Shaw Lane, turn left (east)
  • Head east on S. Shaw Lane to Hagadorn, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Hagadorn to Wilson Road, turn right (west)
  • Head west on Wilson Road to Birch Road, turn right (north)
  • Head north on Birch to W. Shaw Lane, turn right (east)
  • Head east on W. Shaw Lane to Chestnut Road, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Chestnut to Wilson Road, turn left (east)
  • Head east on Wilson to Conrad Road, turn left (north)
  • Head north on Conrad to E. Shaw Lane, turn left (west)
  • Head west on E. Shaw Lane to Science Drive, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Science to S. Shaw Lane, turn left (east)

Route 31 - Brody & East Neighborhoods (Friday night games only)

Buses will travel:

  • Depart from MSU CTC/Ramp 1 to N. Shaw Lane
  • Head west on N. Shaw Lane to Science Drive, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Science to S. Shaw Lane, turn left (east)
  • Head east on S. Shaw Lane to Bogue Street, turn left (north)
  • Head north on Bogue to Grand River, turn left (west)
  • Head west on Grand River/Michigan to the Michigan/Harrison Road turn-around, turn left (south/east)
  • Head east on Michigan/Grand River to Hagadorn Road, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Hagadorn to E. Shaw Lane, turn right (west)
  • Head west on E. Shaw Lane to Science Drive, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Science to S. Shaw Lane, turn left (east)
  • Head east on S. Shaw Lane to MSU CTC/Ramp 1

Route 32 - Commuter Lot - Snyder Hall - Clinical Center (Friday night games only)

Buses will travel:

  • Depart from MSU CTC/Ramp 1 to N. Shaw Lane
  • Head west on N. Shaw Lane to Farm Lane, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Farm Lane to Service Road, turn left (east)
  • Head east on Service to turn-around outside of Lot 91, turn left (north/west)
  • Head west on Service Road to Farm Lane, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Farm Lane to Pavilion Drive, turn right (west)
  • Head west/south on Pavilion Drive to Forest Road, turn left (east)
  • Head east on Forest Road to Farm Lane, turn left (north)
  • Head north on Forest Road to Service Road, turn right (east)
  • Head east on Service to turn-around outside of Lot 91, turn left (north/west)
  • Head west on Service Road to Farm Lane, turn right (north)
  • Head north on Farm to S. Shaw Lane, turn right (east)
  • Head east on S. Shaw Lane to MSU CTC/Ramp 1

Route 34 - Brody Neighborhood - University Village (Saturday games only)

Buses will travel:

  • Depart from MSU CTC/Ramp 1 to N. Shaw Lane
  • Head west on N. Shaw Lane to Science Drive, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Science to Bogue Street, turn left (north)
  • Head north on Bogue to Grand River/Michigan, turn left (west)
  • Head west on Grand River/Michigan to the Michigan/Harrison Road turn-around, turn left (south/east)
  • Head east on Michigan/Grand River to Hagadorn Road, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Hagadorn to E. Shaw Lane, turn right (west)
  • Head west on E. Shaw Lane to Science Drive, turn left (south)
  • Head south on Science to S. Shaw Lane, turn left (east)
  • Head east on S. Shaw Lane to MSU CTC/Ramp 1

Route 39 - University Village (Friday night games only)

Before the game - buses departing Shaw and Farm Boarding Area will:

  • Head west on N. Shaw Lane to Farm Lane, turn right (north)
  • Head north on Farm to Grand River, turn left (west)
  • Head west on Grand River, stay to the left and head west on Michigan past Harrison to the left-hand turn, turn left (east)
  • Head east on Michigan to Harrison, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Harrison to Kalamazoo, turn right (west)
  • Head west on Kalamazoo to University Village, turn left (south)
  • Head south and then west in University Village to the other entrance, turn right (north)
  • Head north back to Kalamazoo, turn right (east) Head east on Kalamazoo to Harrison, turn left (north)
  • Head north on Harrison to Michigan Ave, turn right (east)
  • Head east on Michigan onto Grand River to Hagadorn, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Hagadorn to E. Shaw Lane, turn right (west)
  • Head west on E. Shaw Lane to Shaw Lane/Farm Lane Boarding Center

After the game - buses departing Shaw and Farm Boarding Area will:

  • Head west on N. Shaw Lane to Farm Lane, turn right (north)
  • Head north on Farm to Grand River, turn left (west)
  • Head west on Grand River, stay to the left and head west on Michigan past Harrison to the left-hand turn, turn left (east)
  • Head east on Michigan to Harrison, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Harrison to Kalamazoo, turn right (west)
  • Head west on Kalamazoo to University Village, turn left (south)
  • Head south and then west in University Village to the other entrance, turn right (north)
  • Head north back to Kalamazoo, turn left (west) Head west on Kalamazoo to Clippert, turn right (north)
  • Head north on Clippert to Michigan, turn right (east) Head east on Michigan onto Grand River to Hagadorn, turn right (south)
  • Head south on Hagadorn to E. Shaw Lane, turn right (west)
  • Head west on E. Shaw Lane/N. Shaw Lane to Shaw Lane/Farm Lane Boarding Center
