Summer in Lansing means not only longer days and warmer temperatures, but a whole new calendar of events for you to check out. Whether you are looking for something family friendly or a night to leave the kids at home, there is something for you. Check out our list of events and activities that you can’t miss this summer:

  • Lansing Lugnuts: Route 1 will take you to the front entrance of Cooley Law School Stadium. Bring your family and friends to cheer on the Lugnuts, and don’t forget your foam finger!
  • Taste of Country: Another reason to head to Cooley Law School Stadium this summer! Get tickets for the June 9 concert to see some of the biggest names in country music right in downtown Lansing.
  • Lake Lansing: Many summer activities take place on Lake Lansing and its two surrounding parks. Friday night concerts at the bandshell are just one of the fun things to do. Grab a blanket and sit on the lawn to enjoy some summer tunes! To visit Lake Lansing Park South, take route number 23, and get off at Marsh before Lake Lansing Road.
  • Potter Park Zoo: Hop on route 8 for some summer entertainment at Potter Park Zoo. The zoo is open daily as of April 1, and residents are admitted for free on non-holiday Mondays.
  • Lansing Beer Fest: Take route 2 to REO Town and join in on the Lansing Beer Fest. On June 17, Washington Avenue will be transformed into a festival featuring beer from 25 Michigan breweries, more than 100 craft beers, food trucks and vendors.
  • Common Ground Music Festival: It wouldn't be summer without Lansing’s Common Ground Music Festival at Adado Riverfront Park. Get your tickets now for July 6-9, and start planning a week of music and fun. All of CATA’s downtown routes will be running, but with scheduled event detours. You can keep up with these detours by subscribing to CATA’s Rider Alerts.
