Be a Tourist in Your Own Town

Pay a 50-cent round-trip fare or use your CATA fixed-route pass when you board a Be a Tourist route. Kids 42 inches and under ride free. Cash payments require exact change. Transfers to other buses may be made at boarding centers or bus stops along the route. CATA fixed-route transfers are free. Request a transfer ticket when you board your first bus.

The Be a Tourist bus routes will operate Saturday, June 4: 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Buses will run approximately every 10 minutes.

Green Route

  • Departs the staging area on Michigan (west of Cedar, in front of Nuthouse).
  • East on Michigan to Grand River Ave in downtown East Lansing to Hagadorn.
  • Right (south) on Hagadorn to Shaw Lane.
  • Right (west) on Shaw to Wilson.
  • Left (south) on Wilson and follows Wilson around to the east to Bogue.
  • Left (south) on Bogue to Service Rd.
  • Right (west) on Service Rd to Recycling Road.
  • Left (south) on Recycling Road to Green Way.
  • Left (east) on Green Way to Farm Lane.
  • Left (north) on Farm Lane to Shaw.
  • Right (east) on East Shaw to the MSU-CATA Transportation Center.
  • Left (north) through the MSU CTC to West Shaw.
  • Left (west) on Shaw to Farm Lane.
  • Right (north) on Farm to East Circle.
  • Left (east) on East Circle and continue to West Circle.
  • Left (south) around West Circle to Kalamazoo.
  • Right (west) on Kalamazoo to Pennsylvania.
  • Right (north) on Pennsylvania to Shiawassee.
  • Left (west) on Shiawassee to Cedar.
  • Left (south) on Cedar to Michigan.
  • Left (east) on Michigan to the staging area.

Blue Route

  • Departs the staging area on Michigan (in front of Cooley Stadium) heads west to Cedar.
  • Left (south) on Cedar to I-496 service drive.
  • West on the service drive to Washington.
  • Left (south) on Washington to Mt Hope.
  • Left (east) on Mt Hope to Pennsylvania.
  • Right (south) on Pennsylvania to Cavanaugh.
  • Left (east) on Cavanaugh to Tranter.
  • Right (south) on Tranter CATA facility and back to Tranter.
  • North on Tranter to Cavanaugh.
  • Right (east) on Cavanaugh to Aurelius.
  • Left (north) on Aurelius to Mt Hope.
  • Right (east) on Mt Hope to Fenner Nature Center and back to Mt Hope.
  • Left (west) on Mt Hope to Pennsylvania.
  • Right (north) on Pennsylvania to Potter Park.
  • Right (east) into Potter Park and back to Pennsylvania.
  • Right (north) on Pennsylvania to Michigan.
  • Left (east) on Michigan to staging area in front of Cooley Stadium.

Red Route

  • Departs the staging area in front of Lansing Center.
  • West to Grand Avenue.
  • Right (north) on Grand to Shiawassee.
  • Left (west) on Shiawassee to Capitol.
  • Left (south) on Capitol to Lenawee.
  • Right (west) on Lenawee to Walnut.
  • Right (north) on Walnut to Kalamazoo.
  • Left (west) on Kalamazoo to Michigan Historical Museum parking lot and back around to Kalamazoo.
  • Left (east) on Kalamazoo to Pine.
  • Right (south) on Pine to Malcom X.
  • Left (east) on Malcom X to General Motors facility.
  • Right into General Motors parking lot and back around to Malcom X.
  • Right (east) on Malcom X to Grand.
  • Left (north) on Grand to Kalamazoo.
  • Right (west) on Kalamazoo to Cedar.
  • Left (north) on Larch to Michigan.
  • Left (west) on Michigan to staging area.

Yellow Route

  • Departs the staging area in front of Stadium District Condos/Lansing CVB Office east to Larch.
  • Left (north) on Larch to Oakland.
  • Left (west) on Oakland to Washington.
  • Right (north) on Washington to Grand River.
  • Right (east) on Grand River to Cedar.
  • Right (south) on Cedar to Michigan.
  • Left (east) on Michigan to staging area.
