Microtransit

CATA Rydz — Your link to more places

Serving as a first-mile, last-mile mobility service, CATA Rydz is an on-demand, microtransit solution that connects Greater Lansing’s transit riders to the region’s public transportation services and destinations. Catch a flight, get to work or experience more — from downtown Lansing to the tri-county region — all from the convenience of the app.

Booking your trip is better with CATA Rydz

  • Download the app, available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
  • Book your ride on your smartphone by indicating your pickup and drop-off addresses
  • Indicate the number of passengers riding with you
  • Get picked up at the designated location within one of the established Rydz zones
  • Connect with and transfer to the nearest participating transit service provider, or continue to your destination within that zone

Upon booking your trip, you will receive an estimated vehicle-arrival time and the exact location where the driver will pick you up. The arrival time will update as the vehicle makes its way to you. When your driver arrives, board the vehicle, pay your fare or present your transfer slip as payment. There may be other passengers on board, requiring a few additional stops, but your trip is always tracked in real-time so you will know exactly when you will reach your destination.

The app says my pickup location is out of the service zone and I need to choose a location on the map or type another address. What does this mean?

The location you have entered is not within a microtransit zone. In order to book a trip on CATA Rydz, you must be picked up in one of the zones or at the Capital Region International Airport. In order to see the zones relative to your location, zoom out on the map.

Will my ride be shared?
