Curb-to-Curb Services
When most people think of CATA, they think of big buses picking up passengers at bus stops. But there are other ways that CATA can get you where you need to go. Reserve your ride and we’ll pick you up at your curb and take you to your destination! It’s that easy.
Plan a Curb-to-Curb Trip

For most paratransit services, you will need to contact CATA. We can help determine which service best fits your transportation needs and book your ride. Please be aware that services require a reservation up to 24-hours in advance of the time you need a ride.
Spec-Tran Service
Operates: 7 days a week during the same hours as CATA fixed routes.
Ride reservation hours: Daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Spec-Tran serves persons with disabilities who are unable to use fixed-route service by means of small lift-equipped buses and low-floor vans. Customers must be certified in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Please download the pre-certification application (PDF). Spec-Tran fare is $2.50 for each one-way ride.
My Spec-Tran is your online ride-management tool that gives you the ability to request, review and cancel your Spec-Tran rides at your convenience. Prefer to speak with a representative? Phone reservations are accepted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. seven days/week at the number above. This service is not available on a same-day basis.
CATA Rural Service (CRS)
Operates: Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Ride reservation hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. / Saturday & Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
CRS provides service in the outlying areas of Ingham County. CRS can be used for any trip purpose within the rural Ingham area. Based on the length of the trip, one-way regular fares range from $2.25 to $3.25. Discounted fares range from $1.00 to $1.50.
Redi-Ride Service
Operates: Monday through Saturday (hours vary by area)
Ride reservation hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. / Saturday & Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Redi-Ride operates throughout Delhi and Meridian townships, and in the city of Mason. On Delhi and Mason Redi-Ride, the regular one-way cash fare is $1.25; discounted fare is 60¢. Meridian Redi-Ride fares are $2.50 and $1.25 respectively.
Connector Service
Operates: Monday through Saturday
Connectors offer regularly scheduled small bus transportation connecting Mason, Williamston and Webberville to Lansing urban routes. Route deviations of up to one mile may be possible if the trip is arranged in advance. Based on the length of the trip, one-way regular fares range from $2.25 to $3.25. Discounted fares range from $1.00 to $1.50.
Lot Link
Operates: Weekdays 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., Weekends 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. during MSU fall and spring semesters
Ride reservation hours: During regular service hours. Pickups are usually within 20 minutes of your call.
Lot Link provides service between MSU’s parking lots #83, 89 or 91 and another campus location. Rides are restricted to campus and must begin or end at one of the three lots. Regular, one-way cash fare is $1.25 and discounted fare is 60¢.
Night Owl
Operates: Weekdays 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. (until 9 a.m. on weekends) during MSU fall and spring semesters
Ride reservation hours: During regular service hours. Pickups are usually within 20 minutes of your call.
Night Owl provides late night and early morning campus service. Rides are restricted to campus.
Regular, one-way cash fare is $1.25 and discounted fare is 60¢.
Cancel a Curb-to-Curb Trip
To cancel a ride, call 517-394-CATA (2282) as soon as possible so operators’ schedules can be adjusted. The cancellation line is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Cancellations must be made at least 90 minutes before the beginning of the scheduled “be-ready" pick-up window.
Spec-Tran customers may also cancel a trip on My Spec-Tran.
