Delta Township — Delta Township officials will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and press conference Monday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. The event, which celebrates the launch of the new Delta Redi-Ride service, will take place at Meijer, located at 5125 W. Saginaw Highway in Lansing. Attendees should gather in the parking lot near the store's northwest entrance.
The lineup of speakers include:
Ken Fletcher, Delta Township Supervisor
Robert Swanson, Vice Chair, CATA Board of Directors
Robert Trezise, President and CEO, Lansing Economic Area Partnership
Charna Wolfe, Store Director, Meijer West Saginaw
Redi-Ride buses will begin rolling in Delta Township at 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29. Delta Redi-Ride is a curb-to-curb demand-response service that will be available throughout Delta Township Monday through Saturday.
"This new public transportation service demonstrates the township and CATA's commitment to regionalized transportation," said Ken Fletcher, Delta Township supervisor. "Delta Redi-Ride will enhance access to jobs for residents who work in the township. It will also provide much-needed mobility services for persons with disabilities."
In late August, CATA's Board of Directors authorized the suspension of the Authority's Zone 2 fare structure in Delta Township. As a result, Redi-Ride, Route 3 and Route 12 passengers now pay a $1.25 regular fare and a 60-cent discounted fare. Spec-Tran rides will cost $2.50 each way. For a list of pass vendors, visit

"We are elated to bring a new level of service to Delta Township," CATA CEO/Executive Director Sandy Draggoo announced last month. "The partnership with the Township creates seamless regional connections to the urban area while providing residents with greater access to destinations throughout the Township. Customers and Delta residents have been asking for this service for many years, and we are excited to be able to offer it."
Delta Redi-Ride will also connect with Route 3 at the Lansing Mall and Route 12 at Ollie's and LCC West.
Starting Monday, Sept. 29, Delta Redi-Ride will operate Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Redi-Ride requires a reservation at least 4 hours in advance of a ride. Transportation needed before 10:30 a.m. on week days and before noon on Saturdays must be reserved by 5 p.m. the day before. Reservations can be made at 517-394-2282.
