Public Meeting Notice For Service Changes Effective Jan. 12, 2026

The Capital Area Transportation Authority will host a series of public meetings to present service changes effective Jan. 12, 2026. The following routes and services are included in the service changes:
 
Route 3 (Willow – Marketplace)
  • Eliminate the extension to Marketplace Boulevard, returning the western end of service to the Lansing Mall, as it operated prior to May 2023.
Route 38 (Spartan Village)
  • Eliminate the route, which operated during MSU’s fall and spring semesters, and provide year-round service to Crescent Road (Spartan Village) on Route 20.

Spec-Tran Boundary Reduction

  • Eliminate paratransit service between Creyts Road and Nixon Road in Delta Township, returning to the boundary as it existed prior to May 2023.
CATA Rydz Delta Township Zone Boundary Reduction
  • Eliminate service north of I-496 and west of I-69/I-96 between Millet Highway and Willow Highway.
Details of service changes are available online here. Representatives from CATA will be present at the open-forum public meetings listed below. There is no formal presentation is planned, allowing CATA staff to meet and interact with attendees on an individual basis. Public comment is welcome. The same service information will be available at each meeting, allowing area residents to attend any session of their choosing.

Both facilities are served by CATA fixed routes and Spec-Tran for the duration of each meeting. Spec-Tran rides must be reserved by 5 p.m. the evening before the session an individual plans to attend. Individuals requiring special accommodation should contact CATA Customer Experience at 517-394-1000. CATA will make every attempt to provide reasonable accommodation for requests submitted by 5 p.m. Jan. 16.
