New Job Posting: Mechanic Helper

CATA is seeking two (2) talented Mechanic
Helpers looking for a career and growth opportunity.
The successful candidates must have experience in performing:
Lube, oil and filter service
Chassis inspection and adjustment
Balancing and handling large tires
Rebuilding non-mechanical component parts
Basic electrical repairs to lighting systems
Seat and windshield wiper repairs
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
for first 90 days and increases every six months until the top rate,
currently at $27.58, is achieved
Shifts will be assigned by the labor agreement and may include midnights and/or weekends.
Complete set of tools through 1¼ size
wrenches and sockets, as well as metric tools up to 20 mm
Candidate must possess and
maintain a valid State of Michigan driver’s license and submit a clean five (5)
year driving record and have the ability to obtain a CDL B with passenger and
air brake endorsements
CATA requires three years of working
experience performing the duties described above; an Associate’s Degree in Diesel Service Technology is preferred
Candidate must pass a pre-employment skills test with a passing score of 70% prior to hire, as well as
a pre- employment physical with drug and alcohol screening
Capable of assisting a heavy duty
Ability to qualify for an Industrial
Fork Lift Permit
ASE Preventative Maintenance certification
is required prior to hire
