CATA announced tonight that it will no longer require a mask aboard vehicles or in public transportation hubs.

“We are working expeditiously to update our public notices and remove signage requiring masks. We appreciate our riders’ compliance with the TSA Security Directive for the past couple of years,” said CATA Chief Executive Officer Bradley T. Funkhouser, AICP. The CDC’s Jan. 29, 2021, order requiring masks on public transportation conveyances and in public transportation hubs is no longer in effect.

Effective immediately, TSA will no longer enforce its mask-related security directive (SD 1582/84-21-01E). The CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings.
