Listening Bus resonates with CATA riders

The Capital Area Transportation Authority has provided riders with the ideal venue for sharing feedback since the introduction of the Listening Bus program in 2023. Monthly sessions allow riders to share constructive feedback about their experiences with CATA services while commuting.
The initiative is set to return for its third year in 2025, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 21 aboard select fixed-route buses staffed with CATA representatives. The Listening Bus schedule is available at the Listening Bus webpage.
Feedback collected is considered in new route planning, enhancement of existing services and identification of services that no longer meet riders’ needs. As a direct result of rider input, CATA upgraded its Transit app in March 2024 with a new, automatic detour-detection and display feature. This enhancement provides real-time updates about detours and helps users locate temporary bus stops.
Those unable to attend an onboard Listening Bus session or customers utilizing any of CATA’s paratransit services who would like to provide input about their trips can do so by submitting the online feedback form, calling a Customer Experience Representative at 517-394-1000 or visiting the information booth at the CATA Transportation Center in downtown Lansing.
