Federal face-mask mandate requires masks at all times on CATA property effective Feb. 1, 2021
In accordance with the federal face-mask mandate, effective Feb. 1, 2021, individuals riding in or operating a CATA vehicle, entering a CATA facility, or waiting on CATA property to board a vehicle, including CATA bus stops, MUST wear a face mask at all times. Refusing to wear a mask is a violation of federal law, which can lead to penalties under the law, as well as ride denial.
Masks must properly cover both the nose and mouth. Face shields and face coverings, such as a bandana or handkerchief, do not qualify as a face mask. Prolonged periods of mask removal for the purpose of eating, drinking or smoking are not permitted. Children under the age of 2 are exempt from wearing a mask.
Your full cooperation and adherence to this mandate is legally required.
