CATA to give free rides to voters May 4 for area school districts’ special elections
To ensure transportation for those who want to vote on the Holt, Okemos or Waverly school district ballot proposals, the Capital Area Transportation Authority will offer system-wide free rides to the polls Tuesday, May 4, 2021. No ID is required to ride. Just let the driver know you’re going to vote when boarding the bus.
Spec-Tran and Rural Service rides must be scheduled by 5 p.m. Monday, May 3. Same-day rides will not be available. CATA also recommends that Redi-Ride trips to polling centers be booked no later than May 3.
Riders are required to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth, and to maintain physical distance aboard CATA buses.
