Look to the road for your dream career — behind the wheel or behind the scenes. The Capital Area Transportation Authority is hosting a series of open interview sessions in search of bus drivers and mechanics. Weekly on-site interviews begin Wednesday, March 5.

No experience is necessary for bus driver applicants as CATA offers paid training. Drivers will receive a significant wage increase after 90 working days. Mechanic First Class will receive a $7,500 signing bonus and must meet specific qualifications as outlined in the job description.

Online applications and job descriptions can be found at the CATA Careers Page.

There is no appointment needed to attend a session. Open interviews will be conducted every Wednesday through April 30 at:

CATA Administration Building

4615 Tranter Street, South Lansing

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For those needing transportation, CATA’s Route 5 South Cedar/Edgewood connects with Route 6 Cedar/Jolly Connection at the Jolly Cedar Plaza for travel to CATA’s administration offices. Inform the driver of your desire to travel to Tranter Street upon boarding the Route 6 bus. Attendees can also ride Route 8 Pennsylvania/Holt to reach the agency’s facility.

CATA is an equal opportunity employer. Applicants must present a clean driving record, when applicable, and pass a drug and alcohol screening, physical and background check.
