Capital Area Transportation Authority provides free Transit Royale subscriptions for all riders
Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) is upgrading all its riders to Transit Royale, the new subscription in the Transit app. Today, CATA joins systems across the country in gifting Royale to its riders, with more agencies planning announcements in the coming months.
Beginning today, CATA riders will have access to a free Royale subscription, which unlocks additional features, special agency branding, new customization options, and complete access to the app across more than 300 cities supported worldwide.
As the update rolls out over the next week, riders in Lansing will be informed that CATA is upgrading them to Transit Royale. From there, users can simply tap to redeem their free subscription. If your application is not set to automatically update, download the latest version now in the Google Play or Apple App Stores to access all new custom features!
With Royale, riders have access to power features such as customizable themes, as well as personalized emoji avatars that allow them to become celebrities on their local bus routes and leaderboards for users competing to help the most riders with GO crowdsourcing.
This partnership also unlocks the special ability for riders to switch the app icon and theme to match CATA’s branding – offering riders a world-class mobile app experience that is at once universal and locally branded.
The partnership between CATA and Transit began in 2017. Today, thousands of CATA riders use Transit every month to get around Lansing. Through Royale, CATA is deepening its partnership with Transit to provide a world-class mobility app free of privacy-invading advertising.
