CATA Implements Fall 2007 Service Changes
Lansing, MI-CATA customers should be aware that the following CATA fixed route services will have some level of change to routing and/or timetables (as indicated) beginning Monday, August 20, 2007:
Off-Campus Routes
Route 1 Time adjustments/two Sunday morning trips added
Route 5* 12:00 noon weekday trip adjusted to 12:10PM/ select trips continue as new Route 16
Route 8* Weekday time adjustments/10:15PM trip added
Route 9* Four new trips to Hill Vocational Center added/weekday time adjustments/ 10:15PM trip added
Route 10* Route no longer travels to Prudden Place (now served by Route 16)
NEW! Route 16* West Lake Lansing Road/Eastwood Towne Center-operates 7 days a week
Route 20 Buses travel different direction in Spartan Village
Route 24* Route no longer travels to Eastwood Towne Center/frequency of service increased throughout the week/weekend service starts earlier-ends earlier on Saturday/select trips continue as new Route 16
*These routes are currently on detour due to various road construction projects. The new Route 16 will begin on a detour due to construction on Lake Lansing Road. Please refer to CATA’s Rider Alert Phone Line-367-7277 or CATA’s website-www-cata.org-- for route-by-route detour information.
MSU Campus Spartan Service Routes
Route 30 Route no longer serves Spartan Village (now served by Route 32)/time adjustments/name of route changed to Wilson/Akers
Route 31 New routing to University Village/time adjustments
Route 32 New routing to serve Spartan Village/ time adjustments/name of route changed to Commuter Lot-Spartan Village
Route 33 no changes
NEW! Route 34 Brody/University Village-evening & weekend campus route
NEW! Route 35 Spartan Village/Commuter Lot-evening & weekend campus route
NEW! Route 36 Akers/Hubbard-evening & weekend campus route
Route 37 Replaced by Routes 34, 35 & 36
Route 38 Replaced by Routes 34, 35 & 36
Spartan Service-the additional bus service that operates during MSU fall and spring semesters-begins August 20th. Routes 1, 25 and 26 provide additional trips during Spartan Service periods while all service on Routes 30, 31, 32, 33, the new Routes 34, 35 and 36, Lot Link and Night Owl is Spartan Service. Returning MSU students, faculty and staff will notice significant changes to most campus routes. The changes are in response to current road construction work and the upcoming Farm Lane underpass project.
On August 20th, Routes 20 through 25 will no longer enter the MSU-CATA Transportation Center adjacent to Ramp 1. Routes 20 through 23 will return to boarding at the corner of Shaw and Farm Lanes. Routes 24 and 25 will continue to board at the Wharton Center and stop at the designated bus stops at Shaw and Farm Lanes.
Print bus schedules reflecting the above changes effective August 20th are now available at the CATA Transportation Center in downtown Lansing, in schedule racks at many locations around the area and on CATA buses. Customers who want service change details should call a CATA Customer Service Representative at 394-1000-7AM to 7PM weekdays and 9AM to 5PM weekends or email information requests to info@cata.org
