CATA provides limited Independence Day service

CATA provides limited Independence Day service

Limited holiday service will be offered Thursday, July 4, while all other CATA operations — regularly scheduled fixed routes, Spec-Tran, Rural Service, Connector, Redi-Ride and Shopping Bus — close for the day.

Advance reservations are required for those in need of transportation on the Fourth of July. Curb-to-curb service will be available to the general public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a limited basis and will be restricted to Spec-Tran service boundaries. CATA will attempt to accommodate all ride requests. To view the service area map, visit cata.org/spectran.

Trips must be scheduled June 21 through July 1. No same-day trips will be allowed. Call 517-394-2282 to reserve a ride. The one-way fare is $2.50. Drivers will accept cash (exact fare), Spec-Tran punch passes or tokens as payment.

The Spec-Tran office will remain open July 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to schedule rides that are to occur on or after Friday, July 5. Call 517-394-2282, login to myspectran.cata.org or access your account using the MyRideCATA app to reserve a Spec-Tran ride needed after the holiday.

Visit cata.org/holidays for more holiday service information.
