Hi,
It's over.
We had our last event at Soldier Hollow today. It was sad when I
knew I was making my last run leaving the venue. When we got back to the
park and ride lot, everyone was saying their good-byes. Even the CIA boys
came over to say good-bye. We all had a great time and hated to see it
end. The experience of working here was even more than I had imagined
it could be.
Hope you
all watched the closing ceremonies. It was quite a show. Even the fireworks
at the end were spectacular. And yes, people are now using the term, 'Best
winter Olympic Games ever'. I think Team 2002 attained it's goal. Salt
Lake and America have hosted the world and have shown the world America's
spirit of peace and friendship.
The final
medal count ended with Germany in the lead with 35 medals. The U.S. was
second with 34, then Norway with 24, Canada with 15 and Austria with 14.
It was a very successful Olympics in many ways and I feel great having
been a part of it. Let's see, the summer Olympics in 2004 is in Athens,
Greece. Hmmm, wonder if they need any bus drivers.........
See you all
soon, Len
