February 4, 2002

Finally got here. Was a very long day yesterday. The plane took off from Grand Rapids OK. Then we boarded the next plane in Minneapolis, left the gate and then sat there. They had some warning light that wouldn't go out. We went back to the gate and waited for the mechanics. After a half hour, they said it would take another hour. Then they decided that we had to take a different plane. It made us over two hours late leaving Minneapolis.

Finally got to Salt Lake. They met us at the airport and took us to the Team 2002 Processing Center. What a process that was. It took over three hours! First we had drug testing then had to get pictures taken for our accreditation badges. Next was on to uniform fitting and pick up. Finally checkout. Doesn't sound like that much, but with over 600 drivers coming in yesterday along with other workers, the lines were very, very long. They had tvs set up so we could watch the Super Bowl as we waited.

After getting through the process finally, we boarded a bus to be taken to our motel. It was an hour and a half ride to Evanston. So after starting out from home at 4:30 AM, I finally reached the motel around 10 PM.
We are meeting at 11:30 this morning for the start of our training, will find out then more about what I will be doing. Then I hear there is a party tonight for all the drivers in Salt Lake. Should be fun.
