CATA provides a variety of public transportation services in the Greater Lansing and outlying areas. The 559 square-mile service area spans all of Ingham County and extends into portions of Eaton County (Delta Township) and Clinton County.
Zone Fare System (effective January 2, 2010)
Fare Zone 1
This zone covers the CATA service area described above with the exception of most of Delta Township. Standard CATA fares apply in this zone.
Fare Zone 2
This zone covers most of Delta Township. Higher fares apply when boarding a CATA vehicle in this zone.
Fixed-route customers boarding at CATA Route 3 bus stops, west of Waverly Road, will be charged higher Zone 2 fares.
The Spec-Tran Fare Zone 2 area covers most of Delta Township, but it varies somewhat from the fixed-route fare zone. Due to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, some Spec-Tran customers boarding in Delta Township will pay the current fare and
others will pay the higher Zone 2 fare. Spec-Tran customers who plan trips from Delta Township should confirm their fare by contacting a Spec-Tran representative at 517.394.CATA (2282), Monday-Sunday from 8AM to 5PM.
