Public Notice of Proposed State & Federal Applications for Operating & Capital Assistance & Public Hearing

Capital Area Transportation Authority (“CATA”) has prepared applications requesting State of Michigan financial assistance for Fiscal Year 2011 from the State Comprehensive Transportation Fund under Act 51 of the Public Acts of 1951, as amended, and for Federal Assistance under the Federal Transit Act, as amended, (“FTA”), as follows:

Operating and capital funds listed above include both urban and rural funds. Capital projects to be funded include: purchase of vehicles for transporting customers; vehicle lease payments; rehabilitating buses; preventive maintenance; technology systems; planning; maintenance equipment; replacement parts; safety and security systems; customer enhancements; storage facility renovation and expansion; and facility improvements.

Additional details on the proposed applications are on file at CATA, 4615 Tranter Street, Lansing, MI, and may be reviewed during a 30-day period (January 27, 2010 – February 25, 2010), Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Written comments on the proposed applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on February 25, 2010. CATA will hold a public hearing on the proposed grant applications on Friday, February 26, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. in the CATA Board Room located at 4615 Tranter Street, Lansing.
